Rome has been known for centuries by the Latin phrase "Caput Mundi" (capital of the world). Heir to the art and architecture of ancient Greece, and layered with original treasures from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, this city remains for many the Art Capital of the world.

As the centerpiece of its Grand Tour, Mims Studios will be taking a one week study trip to Rome in the Fall of 2009. Mornings will be devoted to exploring museums and galleries, including the Vatican Museums, Capitoline Museums and the Borghese Gallery, while evenings are scheduled for churches and palaces, such as Santa Maria della Pace, the Pantheon and the Villa Farnesina. These evening tours, titled "Ars in Situ," have been specially developed to study the harmonics connecting the fine arts with architecture and city planning.
