Full scale cartoon drawings and murals will be copied from selected masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance to encourage new adaptations for contemporary use. Traditional techniques will be employed, including an introduction to true fresco painting.

In the traditions of Bastien-Lepage and Sargent, we will explore more recent accomplishments from the history of painting. The model will be posed in an outdoor setting to allow for the study of color and light while maintaining academic discipline in the drawing and modeling of form.
