In April 2005, Mims Studios is pleased to announce a new association with The Weymouth Center for the Arts and
Humanities. Located on the grounds of what was the James Boyd estate, and just a few blocks up the hill from our main studio, the original carriage
house will now serve as a temporary life studio and the permanent landscape facility. Surrounded by such distinctive features
as the serpentine garden wall and water gardens, this studio space is a stone's throw away from a network of nearly 900 acres of North Carolina's
state park system, an ideal environment for plein-air painting in this part of
the country, famous for its year round temperate climate.
